Know your rights
Laws, regulations and decrees can be freely consulted by clients. The terms "access to rights" are regularly used in governments' communication campaigns.
However, if "no one is supposed to ignore the law", the current haemorrhage of applicable legal texts makes it almost impossible for citizens to be familiar with them. Lawyers are themselves becoming increasingly specialised.
To obtain free services to find out about your rights in a particular subject, you can go to public information organizations or to NGO specialised in the subject.
For victims of violence
For victims of domestic violence, for example, in France there are information centres for women's and families' rights (CIDFF). I have met women victims of violence who expected to be represented in court by the staff of these organizations. But it should be pointed out that their mission is limited to information. There are also NGOs that carry out similar missions and offer legal consultations by lawyers authorised to represent clients in court.
For artists
For artists, in France the Maison des Artistes provides information on many aspects of artistic professional practice. Depending on the field, the collective management centres for copyrights have legal departments which can provide legal information.
For entrepreneurs
For entrepreneurs in France, the national institute of intellectual property provides resources to understand how Ip can support a business.
In this particular field, the firm offers diagnostics in order to assess the needs and possibilities of protection of the activity by intellectual property law.
The Firm
The lawyer's legal consultation :
- provides clients with advice tailored to their situation,
- can create a development strategy depending on needs, activity, current projects and/or the future.
The attorney's advisory role is informed by her litigation experience. In some cases, it allows for a risk/benefit assessment of several strategies.
The firm is available to provide advice / design your development, legal and judicial strategy.
