Experience
ChoralyneDumesnil holds a doctorate in private law and is a member of the Paris and California bars.
She trained at the Institut des Sciences Politiques de Paris, and studied at Jawaharlal Nehru University and Harvard Law School.
During her training in intellectual property law, she became involved with specialized associations to combat violence against children (Commission pour l'abolition des mutilations sexuelles, re-established in 1982 byMe Linda Weil-Curiel) and to promote gender equality (Agence pour le développement des relations interculturelles pour la citoyenneté, directed by Chahla Chafiq).
At Harvard Law School, she was inspired by professor and lawyer Catharine A. MacKinnon's course entitled "Sex Equality" and by professor and lawyer Diane Rosenfeld's course entitled "Theories of Sexual Coercion". MacKinnon, entitled "Sex Equality" and by those of professor and lawyer Diane Rosenfeld entitled "Theories of Sexual Coercion". She created a course on the judicial treatment of sexual violence in the world (2015-2018) at the Université Paris Sciences et Lettres. She has directed students in the legal clinic on related subjects at the Paris Institute of Political Science.
She set up her firm in 2017, after working with industrial property attorneys (Regimbeau, Olivier Nicolle), law firms specializing in intellectual property (UGGC, Gide, Veron et associés, August & Debouzy) and the magistrates of the3rd chamber of the Paris tribunal de grande instance.
In California, Choralyne Dumesnil worked on intellectual property with Sideman & Bancroftpartner Béatrice Martinet, on private international law with Diane Morin, and on gender equality law with Professor Catharine A. MacKinnon. MacKinnon in gender equality law.
In 2020, she joined the associative law firm Open Door Legal, where she supported the team in charge of protection order applications, and the Enough network of Equal Rights Advocates (ERA), which intervenes in cases of sexual harassment at university.
Since 2024, the firm has been located at 7-9 rue de la Boétie, 75008 Paris.
